Dave “Mudflap” Casey, hailing from Rockhampton, Queensland, is a prominent Australian motorsport enthusiast and driver.
As the owner and driver of SWL Racing, Casey has made significant strides in various racing disciplines, including the V8 SuperUte Series, Touring Car Masters Australia and Stadium Super Trucks.
SWL Racing, which stands for “Stockers with Lockers,” was established in 2009 when Casey and a group of friends entered a three-car competition with minimal equipment but immense enthusiasm. The team’s name reflects their initial setup of stock-standard four-wheel drives equipped with air lockers.
Over the years, SWL Racing has evolved into one of Queensland’s most followed off-road and drag race teams. Casey’s passion for motorsport is evident in his diverse range of vehicle builds and racing endeavours.
His projects include an LS2 HZ skid ute, a 600HP LSA VY Calais show car, and a 600HP Suzuki Sierra with a 13B turbo rotary engine designed for drag racing and sand dune challenges. Beyond building cars, Casey actively participates in various racing events, from piloting the V8 SuperUte to competing in drag racing or Burnouts 
In 2023, Casey gained media attention for transforming a well-used four-wheel drive into a drag racing machine, showcasing his ingenuity and dedication to the sport.
