Qualifying for the weekend took place later that afternoon with Dave Casey earning P11 with a best lap of 1m07.27s –a huge improvement from the earlier practice session. Dave had the following to say to wrap up Friday’s outing.
“Practice and quali today didn’t go too bad. We were sort of chasing a few mechanical dramas, bad vibration under brakes and a bit of a notchy gearbox, so fortunately we’ve got an awesome mechanic and crew at Sieders Racing. They’re sorting it now for me so it’s all sweet for the race tomorrow.”
Race 1 kicked off the SuperUtes festivities on Saturday afternoon with Dave Casey battling in the ULT4WD SuperUte to retain his P11standing from start to finish across the 15 lap race. Race 2 later in the day saw Dave move into the Top 10 despite a mishap on the kerb bending a couple of rims, crossing the chequered flag in P8 after 18 laps to wrap up Saturday’s efforts.
