Dave Casey's weekend at the 2023 Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight for Round 2 of the 2023 V8 SuperUte Series!

he second round of the 2023 V8 SuperUte Series brought Dave Casey and team Bendix Racing down to NSW for the 2023 Sydney SuperNight. Sydney Motorsport Park would host the event with the infamous Gardner GP Circuit seeing four Superutes races across the weekend. After a three-month Superutes hiatus, the team was keen to stretch the Bendix Racing Dmax Superute’s legs yet again.

The V8 SuperUte festivities would begin Friday morning with a practice session that would see Dave clock the 9^th fastest lap of the pack, piloting the Dmax around Gardener GP in 1m47.14s on his 6^th practice lap. Qualifying would take place later that Friday afternoon, which would initially see Dave achieve stellar results. Dave would complete a 1m44.14s best lap, which would put him into contention for a P4 qualifying result. However, after the time was taken away due to exceeding track limits, Dave was forced to complete another lap on worn tyres, which ultimately resulted in a P11 qualifying result.

Race 1 kicked off the SuperUtes action on Saturday morning with Dave Casey completing an incredible drive, fighting his way up through the pack and gaining six places from his P11 start to a P5 finish. Race 2 would commence later in the day and feature a reversed-grid start. After another 11 laps of Sydney Motorsport Park and some fantastic door-to-door racing, Dave would bring the Dmax across the chequered flag to a P8 finish.

Race 3 would begin in the early morning with Dave piloting the Bendix Racing Dmax to a P6 finish, showing consistent pace across 9 laps of action. Race 4 would cap off the weekend with Dave driving to another P6 race result. A weekend of hard work would see Dave and Bendix Racing climb up the ranks to 5^th in the championship to wrap up the 2023 Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.

The 2023 V8 SuperUte Series continues in just under three weeks when the team heads to South Australia for the 2023 OTR SuperSprint from August 18-20.
